My childhood was spent in northeastern Ohio. I grew up in the small town of Hudson playing in the woods and snow, and swimming in Lake Chautauqua in Western New York. After graduating from high school, I moved to Maryland for college, but ultimately ended up finishing in San Francisco at SFSU. I continued on to USF for my teaching credential and Masters degree in Education.
After some globetrotting and urban living in San Francisco my husband Wes and I settled in San Rafael in 2008. I came to Edna after my first daughter, Hazel was born and have been happy here ever since. We now have two daughters (Taylor was born in March of 2016), and while life is very full I could not imagine it any other way. Becoming a parent has deeply impacted my teaching practice in very positive ways. Coming from fourth grade, I am thrilled to be a part of the Edna Maguire 5th Grade team for the second year!
