Ms. Frazier’s FANTASTIC Blog
This week was incredible week. On Monday the Frazier Squad we practiced annotated text about the tribes that lived in Virginia. Annotating is when you write between the margin. You write all of your questions noticings, and your connections to your life or things that you’ve heard in your life. On Tuesday we worked on division strategies. We worked on taking a little bit of the main number and putting it into a rectangular model. On Wednesday our young Authors Fair stories were due. The Young Authors Fair is an event where the kids write a story and turn it into our librarian Mrs. Monge. The story is like a slip to go to the Fair and anyone can write a story. We also had part of our fitness test in P.E. we finished up our trunk holds. Trunk holds are when you lay down on a yoga mat, keeping your toes on the ground lift your head up and go as tall as you can when you arch up. On Thursday we had science with Mrs. Tybinka. In science we started making our soap box derby cars. We made our cars out of lots of different kinds of dried pasta. Next Thursday we get to race them down a ramp and see whos car goes the farthest. Remember that this week was teacher appreciation week, it’s not too late to do something above and beyond for your great teacher. And to the kids who wrote books for the young Authors Fair the actual “fair” is in a few weeks.
